This season’s Emerging Artist is the trio of Andrew Anderson, Wells Leng, and Richard An, who will play works by Erich Barganier, Matthias Kranebitter, Yifeng Yvonne Yuan, and Tristan Perich; plus a newly extended work by An; and premieres by Erin Rogers and Leng.

Poetry is paired with new and recent repertoire for piano and other instruments, with works by Eötvös, Ives, and Katherine Balch, plus premieres by David Rhodes, Steuart Liebig, and Joseph Pereira; with special guests Elissa Johnston and Joseph Pereira.

Reprising his theme from last season’s timely and impactful program, the Stein Resident Artist returns with more new works from international composers who now reside in the US – a multifaceted consideration of the uprooted life.
The Satie Project – Sat-Sun MAY 30-31 / Boston Court
Dada and the avant garde clowning of David Gordezky come together with Erik Satie’s complete works for piano four-hands, plus new “30 for 30” commissioned works by seven American composers. Featuring several Piano Spheres artists.
Nic Gerpe – Tue NOV 4 / Thayer Hall
A concert exploration of the many connotations of islands, with works by Almeida Prado, Thomas Osborne, Donnacha Dennehy, Salina Fisher, Chris Cerrone, and premieres of “30 for 30” commissions by Robert Pollock, José-Luis Hurtado, and Paul Moravec.
Vicky Chow – Sat OCT 11 / Nimoy Theater
Tristan Perich’s concert-length masterwork “Surface Image” for solo piano with 40-channel 1-bit electronics limns the threshold between the abstract world of computation and the physical world around us. West Coast premiere, co-presented with CAP UCLA.

Bringing together two seemingly unrelated worlds: iconic works from popular and electronic music and the rigorous chromatic pointillism of Morton Feldman; with guest artist Bryan Kostors on analog and modular synths.
