Music has always reflected the times we live in.  Troubled times can produce music of Empathy, Compassion, and what the late civil rights leader John Lewis called “Good Trouble.”  On Saturday May 10th at 1PM, Piano Spheres presents a special fundraising event featuring pianists  Andres Jaramillo, Althea Waites, Thomas Kotcheff, Vicki Ray, Aron Kallay and Mark Robson performing music from Jaramillo’s program “A Journey of Immigrants,”  plus “Troubled Water,”  by Margaret Bonds, “Songs of Insurrection” by Frederick Rzewski, and contemporary arrangements of American songs and anthems by Vicki Ray and Mark Robson.

This event will take place at a private home in Pasadena.  There will be delicious passed appetizers, desserts and drinks, and a special introduction to Piano Spheres’ next Executive Director!  90% of our $30,000 fundraising goal will go toward offsetting the loss of federal funds that are echoing throughout our arts communities. 10% will be donated to Musicares to support musicians who lost everything in the devastating fires.  Space is extremely limited, so please RSVP Today!  If you are a student, artist, family or someone displaced by the fires, please send an email to rsvp@pianospheres.org and request a discount code.
